Bergamo: The House of Pope John XXIII in Sotto il Monte
Bergamo

Pope John XXIII is considered one of the most important and beloved persons of the contemporary era. And this despite the fact that he headed the Catholic Church only from 1958 till 1963.

He was born in the poor house presented in this 360° Image, in the village of Sotto il Monte (Bergamo), the 25th of November 1881. He was the 4th of thirteen brothers and sisters in a farmers family.

Most people remember his warmth, simplicity, human love. Yet, announcing the Second Vatican Council, Pope John demostrated his great vision and strong determination to modernize the Catholic Church. A still ongoing process.
