This is a sequence from the culmination of the Ghost Peloton, an exciting project and live performance commissioned as part of the Yorkshire Festival 2014. It’s a collaboration between NVA, Phoenix Dance Theatre and and Sustrans, the national cycling advocacy charity.
This large-scale performance builds on the success of NVA’s Speed of Light project, featuring a stunning performance from dancers from Leeds-based Phoenix Dance Theatre, along with an incredible display of dozens of LED-illuminated cyclists, choreographed and soundtracked to create an immersive, dynamic performance.
It marks the build up to this year’s Le Grand Départ, when the first two stages of the Tour de France come to Yorkshire in 2014.
It was performed in front of a crowd of 3000 on May 16-17 2014 at Waide’s Yard, on the site of the former Tetley’s brewery in Hunslet, Leeds.
