The most sophisticated shopping street in the town of Siena is the Via Banchi di Sopra, along this street you can find this small and pleasant square, the Piazza Salimbeni, where is Salimbeni Palace, a palace built in Gothic style the fourteenth century. The palace is the headquarters of the bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena, founded in 1472 as a Monte Pio.
