Located in the Great Glen just southwest of Inverness Loch Ness is a 37 kilometers long very deep freshwater loch. Sorry, no Nessie sighting in this panorama. The earliest castle on the site of Urquhart Castle ranges from the early Middle Ages. Buildings from the 13th to 16th century can still be seen as ruins.
