Le jardin du château a été créé en vertu de margrave Karl Wilhelm de Christian Thran jardinier de 1731 à 1746 dans le style baroque français. Son successeur, le grand-duc Karl Friedrich quitté les zones du jardin par le jardinier et Muller Saul et finalement transformer à partir de 1787 dans le jardin de l'Angleterre nommé inspecteur Friedrich Schweickardt d'après des modèles anglais. A l'occasion de l'exposition horticole fédérale 1967, a remplacé le jardin du palais dans le style d'un parc paysager à l'anglaise et développé. Sculptures du baroque au moderne, monuments, fontaines de différentes époques et le grand lac d'animer et d'accentuer l'espace vert.
