Lynmouth on the North coast of Devon overlooks the Bristol channel. In August 1952 it was subject to a devastating flood that killed 34 people see Wikipedia for more information. This view looks up to the Cliff railway that is powered by the weight of water carried in the descending carriage, the railway links Lynmouth with Lynton at the top of the cliff.
