Pôdorys kostola s dĺžkou 43 m má podobu kríža. Do vnútra vojde takmer šesťtisíc návštevníkov. S kostolom tvorí harmonický celok samostatne stojaca drevená veža slúžiaca ako zvonica, ktorá bola pristavená neskôr. Bol postavený majstrom Jozefom Langom v obci Paludza a po jej zatopení pri budovaní Liptovskej Mary bol premiestnený do obce Svätý Kríž. Kostol pochádza z roku 1729 a je to jedna z najväčších drevených stavieb na Slovensku, ale aj v rámci Strednej Európy. Artikulárne kostoly nemohli mať vežu so zvonom, pri ich výstavbe sa nemohlo použiť železo ani kameň a stavať sa mohli len mimo hraníc obcí. Wooden articular church of the Vilage Sväty Kríž. The harmonious whole with the church is a free-standing wooden tower serving as a bell tower, which was added later. It was built by the master Jozef Lang in the village of Paludza and after its flooding during the construction of Liptovská Mary, it was moved to the village of Svätý Kríž.
