Ship thrown on seawall during record high tides in Betio, Kiribati
Les Iles de l'Océan Pacifique

During record 2.9 meter high tides on 20 February 2015, this ship which was previously abandoned in the lagoon, was thrown up onto the seawall that protects the coast on Betio island in Kiribati. The low lying atoll nation is under increasing threats from accelerated climate change induced risks such as sea level rise.
