A 150' aerial view overlooking the unincorporated community of Eureka, Nevada.  Tucked within the Diamond Mountains, the population was 610 as of 2010.  First settled in 1864 by prospectors, silver-lead ore was discovered on nearby Prospect Peak, to which one incident involved one of the prospectors yelling "Eureka!", resulting in the town's name.  At one time the hillsides were rated as having the state's second richest silver deposits after the Comstock Lode.
