The Katrin is a 1542 m high mountain near Bad Ischl in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria. The large summit cross was christened on August 17, 1910 on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Emperor Franz Joseph I, who used to spend his summer holidays in Bad Ischl. The 56 m high transmitter mast was built in the 1970ies.
