Jot Dean Ice Cave
California

Jot Dean Ice Cave is a small lava tube along Forest Road 49 leading towards Medicine Lake, California, no more than a few hundred feet deep.  A quick crawl down a slippery downsloping icy floor, the cave is cold enough to retain large chunks of ice throughout the year w/ occasional flowers of ice crystals accumulating over the ceiling.  The nature of the ice floor is always changing, be careful, one slip could incur a bad injury.
