Памятник Св. Георгию Победоносцу в Парке кованых фигур
Ukraine

In 2011 there was another monument in the Park of Forged Figures. This attraction was donated to the city from the Georgian community "Rustaveli" in honor of the fact that Donetsk is one of those cities that have helped many nationalities, showing their hospitality.

George - this is a Christian saint, martyr, who, according to Greek legends, during the persecution of Christians in the III century in Palestine, declared himself a Christian before the Emperor Diocletian, after which he was brutally tortured 8 days (torture wheel bristling with knife and sword, throwing in quicklime, interrupting all the bones, put the hot iron boots, beaten with whips, allowed to drink water, mutnevshuyu mind). After all the torture, George miraculously healed after prayers. Next, was executed by beheading. In all the time seeing the influence of God, many people became Christians.

The most famous posthumous miracle - the killing lance snake, ravaged the land of the pagan king. It is a symbol of the victory of Christianity over paganism.
