This three-tier waterfall is the product of differential erosion of the Neidong River bed. The middle tier is the largest of the three, dropping 19 meters in a thunderous plunge to the pool below.

The heanion-charged air at Neidong Waterfall is considered the best in Taiwan. The forest, river, and boulders are also home to a number of birds, frogs, butterflies and other creatures, making Neidong an excellent area to learn about the ecology of northern Taiwan.
