Sandstone Vistas, Valley of Fire, Nevada, USA
Nevada

The many hued sandstone of Valley of Fire state park near Overton, Nevada and about 45 minutes from Las Vegas, is a sight to behold.  There are few places in the desert southwest with so many colors visible in the sandstone in a relatively small area.

This view is a short hike east from parking area #2 along the road to the White Dome trail, about half way along that road from the visitor center.  Hike east toward the red sandstone chimneys and climb the hill for a sweeping view.
