After the Lone Pine Canyon Fire, Wrightwood, CA, USA
California

The aftermath of a wildfire in Lone Pine Canyon the San Bernardino National Forest near Wrightwood, California. Although the plants now look dead in this view, they are alive and well.  Fire-adapted chaparral habitat plants such as the yucca and chamise seen in this panorama will start to regrow from their underground root systems in just a few months.
