The Old Town (Altstadt) is the oldest part of the city of Zurich. The Roman Empire began here in Zurich, making Altstadt more than 2000 years old. Today, it is Kreis 1, the first district, and is home to some of the best shopping brands, and cultural vibrance.

Altstadt a is tourist favourite. The crowd, the energy, and the beautify of the Old Town is an experience you must have on your trip to Zurich. It is divided into 4 further parts, each with their own collection of attractions to visit. The Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's prime shopping street is also in Altstadt. Old Town is also home to the town hall, and the Fraumunster church houses.
