Sailing by boat from Tivat, you will pass (now privately owned :( ) St. Mark island and after few minutes you will arrive to the small island, dominated by the church and monastery built on it. Diameter of the island is barely 200m, of which one half is a monastery complex dedicated to the Virgin Mary - Our Lady of Mercy. Established in the 15th century AD by Franciscans. The Franciscans held the monastery until late 19th century, when the island became the residence of the Bishop of Kotor. Today the monastery is in possession of the Jesuit order.
