The historic coastline near Skagen
Denmark

Regelbau 638 is located on the Jutland coast, north of Skagen. It served as a wartime field hospital, along the so-called Atlantic Wall. It is one of many concrete bunkers built in occupied countries by the German Army during World War II. Regelbau translates as 'standardised buildings'.

Skagen Lighthouse, also known as the Grey Lighthouse, was built in 1858. Standing 46 metres high, it is the second tallest lighthouse in Denmark. It guarded against ships foundering on the notorious shifting sands around Grenen, at the northern tip of Denmark where the North Sea and Baltic Sea converge. It remained in service until 2013.

Skagen is situated close to the northern tip of Denmark where the North Sea and Baltic Sea converge.
