Botley Hill Beech Tree Ripped Assunder
England

Remains of a beech tree trunk succumbing to the process of decay. Probably the tree was felled in the great storm of 1987 but now shows the effects of 30 years of decay, evidenced by the black and rotted wood. The ground around is soggy white clay covered in old branches, leaf remains and mosses. Located near the top of Titsey, near Botley Hill, close to Oxted and Limpsfield early morning in March.
