Papakōlea beach is a green sand beach that gets its coloring from small smooth olivine crystals that are mixed in with the black lava sand. It is a hot 2.5 mile hike from the trail head. For $20 and industrious local will haul you down the deeply rutted dirt road. get in the back of the truck and hang on!
