Verdi Lake [2]
Nevada

A look at Verdi Lake just below Verdi Peak in the Ruby Mountains outside of Lamoille, Nevada, the highest lake in the range at 10,220' (when spring time) & fifth highest in the state.  The glacial tarn has a nice color & backdrop; it does not appear to have any visible outlet which might explain why one can see algae colonies growing at the bottom when there is no wind creating waves.  I downclimbed to the lake about 600' from the saddle at 10,800' right next to Verdi Peak.
