Misfits Flat is located outside of Stagecoach, Nevada.  The west side of the playa is home to Desert Station, a former Pony Express Station.  At the northern end one can find chondrite meteorites after a discovery was made on September 22, 2013, to which a total of 58 meteorites have been found to date.  Most of them date to roughly 8.1 ± 1.3 ka ago while another specimen found is consistent with an observed fireball on March 2, 1895.  A thunderstorm picked up plenty of dust which eventually built up a massive dust storm that headed towards Winnemucca.
