Mt. Lamarck is an odd summit, the namesake of a col but on a ridgeline where it's not even the high point. In any case, the summit affords impressive views down to the Owens valley to the east as well as to the beautiful Darwin Bench and the glaciers of Mts. Darwin and Mendel. I approached the summit from the class 2 southeast slopes, and descended around to traverse to Lamarck Col, a fantastic trip to the brilliant eastern Sierra.
