Viševac village

Viševac Village is located in Maribor Kragujevac, at 110 kilometers from Belgrade. It is significant as the birthplace of Djordje Petrovic Karadjordje (1762-1817), leader of the First Serbian Uprising. This is confirmed by a marble plaque in Gradiste was placed at the spot where the house used to be Karadjordje parents. Through the efforts of the "Vožd Djordje Petrovic - Karadjordje" and people of good will, 2004. year, began the formation of ethno village, the complex is of great importance, which, within a small space shows how the life of Serbian people in the most important period of Serbian history. In the central part of town is the monument of Djordje Petrovic, who built the 2004th the occasion of the 200th anniversary of First Serbian Uprising, with funds from the Fund "Djordje Petrovic - Karadjordje". Is the work of Pavlovic Stanimir. The monument is located near the fountain, which in 1924. was built by King Alexander I Karadjordjevic, initiated by Milos Jovanovic, a close family friend. In the village one can see authentic objects such as: • Wyatt, who represents the sleeping area from Viševca the star is about 140 years. • Dairy, also from the star and Viševca oko150 years. In it are also various items that were used in the household (pelvis, tubs, scoops, hand mill ...). • Barn, which was brought from the village Adrovca ​​is 172 years old. It is owned by Philip Jovanovic, a merchant from Raca, who hid him in the King Petar Karadjordjevic during the reign of Obrenovic. • Kacar, was transferred from the village Đurđeva and is over 100 years. It is stored in wine vats. • House with oriel window, was transferred from the carp. In it are exposed to numerous household objects, costumes, original flag ... To the left of the entrance is set of cross Cerovina, who adhered to the letters that make words that represent the meaning of life. The cross was made by a carpenter from Raca idea Aleksandar Popovic, a retired geography teacher from Viševca. For visitors who would like to hear more about Karadjordje and his life, the history of Serbian people and the Ethno village, designed the amphitheater. We also plan to set up a small facility with souvenirs. Across the street from the monument is the monastery of St.. George.
