Inserted in the wonderful Parc Ela, Preda, is located at around 1800 meters above sea level, more precisely at 1,789 meters in the upper valley of the Albula Alps, at the western portal of the Albula Tunnel of the Rhaetian Railway. Here the famous Albula line ends, part of the UNESCO route with its famous spiral tunnels and viaducts.

Preda is the gateway to Engadine, in the Bergün Filisur holiday region. Preda is on the road over the Albula Pass as seen in this panorama and also includes the small village of Naz, which is now mainly used as a holiday resort. It has rail connections with hourly stops towards Engadin and Chur. Preda railway station is an important crossing point for trains on the Rhaetian Railway, which has a long double-track line and a switching area with branches.

In the summer of 2014, construction work began on the Albula Tunnel to create a 2nd tunnel, which would last around 10 years. In this panorama, the works on this 2nd tunnel are visible. The new Albula Tunnel, 5,860 meters long, was built parallel to the existing tunnel and was officially opened on June 8, 2024, the Rhaetian Railway - RhB celebrated its opening. The first scheduled train passed through the new Albula Tunnel on 12 June 2024.

The old Albula Tunnel was converted into a security tunnel, and its construction began in 1898 and its opening on July 10, 1904.

Inserida no maravilhoso Parc Ela, Preda, está localizada a cerca de 1800 metros acima do nível do mar, mais propriamente a 1.789 metros no vale superior dos Alpes Albula, no portal oeste do Túnel de Albula da Ferrovia Rética. Aqui termina a famosa linha Albula, parte da rota da UNESCO com os seus famosos túneis e viadutos em espiral.

Preda é a porta de entrada para a Engadina, na região de férias de Bergün Filisur. Preda encontra-se na estrada sobre o Passo de Albula, como se vê neste panorama e inclui também a pequena aldeia de Naz, que é agora utilizada principalmente como estância de férias. Possui ligações ferroviárias com paragens de hora a hora em direção a Engadina e Chur. A estação ferroviária de Preda é um importante ponto de passagem para os comboios da Ferrovia Rética, a qual possui uma linha longa de via dupla e uma área de manobra com ramais.

No verão de 2014, iniciaram-se as obras de construção do Túnel de Albula para a realização de um 2º túnel, que durariam cerca de 10 anos. Neste panorama são visíveis as obras deste 2º túnel. O novo Túnel Albula com 5.860 metros de comprimento, foi construído paralelamente ao túnel existente e foi oficialmente inaugurado em 8 de junho de 2024, a Ferrovia Rética - RhB celebrou a sua inauguração. O primeiro comboio programado passou pelo novo Túnel Albula a 12 de junho de 2024.

O antigo Túnel de Albula foi convertido num túnel de segurança, tendo sido iniciada a sua construção em 1898 e a sua abertura em 10 de julho de 1904.
