The Congress Square is one of the main squares in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The Square was build 1821 and serverd an important role in Slovenian history, from the independece from the Austrian-Hungarian empire in 1918 to the first public read of the slovenian independece declaration in 1991.
The Square features several statues, including a fountain designed by Boris Kobe and an anchor showing the independence from Italy placed in 1945
