A view of The River Trent from the hill top path inbetween Burton upon Stather and Alkborough. The Isle of Axholm is visible across the river. The wood on the near side of the river was the scene of a fatal plane crash in WWII. A Miles Martinet traning aircraft crashed into the wood after flying low under the pylon cables, the pilot was killed instantly.
