While Kaaterskill Falls has the honor of being the tallest twin waterfalls in New York State, Bastion Falls, which lie at the entrance to the trail to Kaaterskill Falls, is no slouch when it comes to beauty.

Just southeast of Haines Falls along Route 23A in New York, Bastion Falls is probably the most convenient water fall you'll ever find. You literally see it from the road. There is parking just beyond the entrance to the trail, and you can get to these falls even if you forgot your hiking boots and are wearing your high heels.
